CALL TO ORDER
Ian Wilson (IW) called the meeting to order.
1) Consent Agenda:
No items were removed from the agenda. Agenda items discussed:
2) Financial Report presented by IW.
£2,829.08 in the account as at July 2022. IN MR’s absence no updated accounts info available but IW confirmed account is healthy and membership renewals are high. Approx £500 has been spent through the year on works at the scrape.
3) Election of Officers
All happy to stay in their positions with exception of NB who is stepping down as General Secretary. IW thanked NB for her help in the role. NB will stay as a general committee member and attend meetings as time allows. Gill Waldron (GW) has stepped into the role as General Secretary with immediate effect- thank you Gill. Many thanks too to David Cooling in his role as Membership Secretary- he is doing a great job.
4) Ryburgh Nectar Corridor
BW confirmed that we have been adopted as a project by Norfolk Wildlife Trust who are supportive of the plans the group has for a pollinator pathway. There are pathways being created within villagers’ own gardens as well as through the village. The Pollinator Pathway was launched at the village show and in October the group funded a bulbs giveaway to great success. The location on a sunny Saturday, outside the shop worked well and was well received and the bulbs were snapped up- thank you to all who are taking part.
5) Recent Events
All were enjoyed and well attended and included:
The Holkham walk was well attended and much enjoyed. Thank you to Nick Parsons (NP) for leading this. An historical walk around the village, led by Matt Champion, was also much enjoyed and well attended . Thank you Matt for organizing. Annual walk around Sennowe. Many thanks to Tom Cook for his invitation to the group. Dawn Chorus and breakfast at Jane and Mike’s – suggestion that we walk a few hours earlier next time to hear more birds. Delicious breakfast at J and M’s – thank you both. Some villagers took part in a recent Hedgehog survey, conducted by Josh from UEA. Disappointing results as so few hedgehogs within the village. There has been a good response to the Community Café which is held monthly with a group activity once or twice having been organized at same time.
6) Work Parties
Litter picks have taken place through the village- thank you for all who helped and also for those who helped with scrape works and other works around the village through the year.
7) A.o.B
Thank you to Tom Cooke who takes an active interest in the group, the village and the hedgehog survey and for sharing his management plan for the hedgerows
