Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of the Ryburgh Wildlife Group, held at the Memorial Hall, Great Ryburgh at 7pm on February 2nd, 2026.
Present: David Cooling in the chair, Mike Rundle being unavoidably absent due to illness, 16 members, 7 apologies for absence (see attached).
- Welcome David welcomed the members and welcomed the guests who had come to give the evening’s talk on hedgehog rescue, at the end of the AGM.
- Minutes of the AGM 2025 (see attached) These were approved unanimously as a true record of the meeting.
- Annual Report (see attached) This had been circulated, David highlighted the main achievements. The membership present expressed appreciation that so much was achieved in 2025. There was interest in the pond renovation, a project supported by the Sennowe estate, and in the RWG nomination for the biodiversity awards in There was agreement about the need to engage younger people. Current membership stands at 69 households.
- Financial Report (see attached) This was approved
- Election of Officers David confirmed that all committee members were eligible for election and were standing Mike Rundle, Chair and Treasurer, Gill Waldron, General Secretary, David Cooling, Membership Secretary, Neil Dandy, Nick Parsons, Barley Wilson and Ian Wilson were proposed by Helen Jones, seconded by Hugh Barton and elected unanimously.
- Feedback to the Committee David invited members to feedback comments and criticisms, and suggestions for activities in 2026. There were some very positive comments, about the quality, information and variety of the Newsletters in particular, and the Group and its organisation and breadth in Suggestions to advertise by a flyer run to all households, and a link to the UWD article on the website were made, as were some ideas to take opportunities to advertise the Group to schools and youth organisations.
