The restoration of a neglected pond is probably to most effective single action that can be taken in an environment to improve wildlife.
Sennowe Estate has very kindly agreed to the Wildlife Group restoring the pond adjoining the disused railway line, in the field where the dog walkers pass from the railway line to Mill Road. Thought to be a very old Marl Pit it is presently denied any light by dense growth of willow and blackthorn. We hope the initiative will be a popular community project and shall be looking for volunteers in December and January for work parties.
